January Prayer Request For WGM Uganda

Dear Praying Partners,

Happy New Year! We are sorry for the delay in getting these prayer requests out. We had hoped to have this in full swing by January 1st, but we have had some complications. We are sorry for the delays and problems. However, we have already started praying even though we do not have all of the slots officially filled yet. We also know that there are many of you that are praying, but you just have not let us know which time you would prefer to fill. Please send us an email indicating the time you prefer so that we can fill out the slots. Many of the time slots will have more than one person praying at that time. Some of the slots are even filled by groups, or churches. This is great! We want as many people praying as possible.

Sorry for any confusion that we have caused concerning the time slots. The orange time slots were the ones that Jonathan was asked to fill and the pink time slots were the ones that Lisa was asked to fill. They are based on the US Eastern Time zone so that we could have a standard time to be certain that all of the time slots are filled. We want to make sure that we have prayer cover all year, every day, every minute. If you cannot pray every day for the whole year, but still want to be a part of the 24/7 prayer for WGM Uganda and beyond, then just let us know what you feel you can do. We need as many people to pray as possible!

Let me include the time slots once again in the order of time without any colors. Even though some of the times have been filled, we can use more people to be involved.

How you can be Praying for WGM Uganda
  • Please pray for the physical and spiritual health of the Uganda missionaries & their families… (the children’s names are listed in parentheses)
    • Kampala Missionaries:
      • Jonathan & Lisa Mayo (Jordan & Ethan)
      • Kenneth & Delight Hopson ( Kaleb, Austin, & Emilee)
      • Michael & Angela Kelley (Abby & Ashley)
      • Lisa Fish
      • Keith & Donna Bourne (Haley & Rachel)
      • LeeAnn Owen
    • Arua Missionaries
      • Billy & Joanna Coppedge (new baby, Elsie Jayne)
      • John & Erica Rinehimer
  • Please pray for the new pastors’ trainings that begin in January; there are 8 in southern Uganda & 1 in northern Uganda (Nebbi)
  • Please pray for a “place of their own” for the approximately 600 Kampala International University students who meet for services, prayer meetings and accountability, groups each day of the week during the school year. At present they use a classroom at the university, where sometimes services have to be changed or cancelled due to the school schedule.
  • Please pray for the survey trips to Congo and Sudan in the coming months.
  • Please pray for the printing ministry here in Uganda.
  • Please pray for the Bourne family as they adjust to living in a new culture; they just arrived on Dec. 31.
  • Please pray for returning missionaries, Lisa Fish and the Coppedges. Lisa Fish returns on Jan. 7, and the Coppedges hope to return at the end of Jan. Please pray for traveling mercies and for their adjustment as they return to life in Uganda.
  • Praise God for the support He has provided for Lisa Fish to make it possible for her to return!
  • Please pray for Lisa Fish’s Bible classes and youth ministries at Heritage International School (HIS). As far as she knows, she will be the only adult youth leader for the HIS kids (grades 7-12) and she could really use other volunteers’ help.
  • Please pray for the upcoming curriculum writing workshops Lisa Fish will have with the AGC Youth Pastors.
  • Please pray for the mission teams that will be coming in the summer, as they begin to meet and prepare for their trips.
  • Please pray that we would all have the attitude of Christ, that we would keep Him the center focus of our lives, marriages, families, & ministries, and that we would be a light to Uganda.
